A new team to the Trooper Island Golf Scramble won the event which was held at Panther Creek Golf Course outside of Owensboro on Friday, October 7, 2016.

The team members include: (L to R) Wendell Harryman of Madisonville; Kevin Clayton of Owensboro and Max Farthing of Morganfield (not pictured).

Their team shot an 18 under for the win. But the most talked about competition was for second place. Spirited team rivals, Titan Contracting of Owensboro and Kentucky Association of Manufacturing of Frankfort both shot a 16 under. Both teams, who were tied, came to a draw on hole nine which still maintained a tied. So both teams had to send one representative up for a single stroke who’s drive lands closest to the pin.

Team Titan barely edged out Team KAM for the win. Team KAM has won past scrambles by beating Team Titan at this venue. Both teams trade victories as Team KAM won last years event by a draw over Team Titan.

This is KAM’s fifth year of playing in Post 16’s Trooper Island Golf Scramble and Team Titans seventh.

Team Titan member Clif McKee also won the “Longest Drive” competition hole. He walked away with a 32” LED flat screen TV donated by Best Buy of Owensboro.

Brandon Blake of Owensboro won the “closest to the pin” competition hole. Best Buy of Owensboro gave him a new Bose sound set.
