Kuttawa, Ky. (December 7, 2016) – On December 6, 2016 at approximately 5:00p.m. Tpr. Sarah Burgess and Tpr. Derek Scott observed at 2014 Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed on Interstate 24 near the 48 mile marker in Lyon County. Tpr. Burgess attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle but it failed to yield and increased speed and a pursuit was initiated. The driver continued westbound at a high rate of speed before exiting at the exit 45 off ramp onto KY-293. The driver immediately got back on I-24 heading eastbound this time. The vehicle finally came to a stop near the 46mm eastbound on I-24. The driver, Tajuan M. Davidson Jr., 19, of St. Louis, Missouri was arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
Davidson Jr. was charged with Fleeing Or Evading Police 1st Degree-Motor Vehicle (Class D Felony), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Class D Felony), 2 Counts Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer (Class D Felony), Speeding 26mph Or Greater Over Speed Limit (Violation),Reckless Driving (Violation), Improper Lane Usage (Violation), Failure Of Owner To Maintain Required Insurance 1st (Class B Misdemeanor), Disregarding Stop Sign (Violation), Failure To Illuminate Head Lamps (Violation).
Davidson Jr. was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. The Investigation is ongoing by Tpr. Sarah Burgess.
