School Threats Lead To Three Arrests In Two Counties

Two juveniles in Hopkins County and one juvenile in Christian County have been charged after making unrelated threatening statements towards their respective schools.

In Christian County, a  Hopkinsville Middle School Student has been charged with 2nd Degree Terroristic Threatening and lodged in the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center. Those threats came after his mother was arrested Tuesday on an unrelated incident.

In Hopkins County last night, threats towards Hopkins County high schools were seen on social media that prompted the Madisonville Police Department, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, and Hopkins County School Board to collaborate to investigate the threats. Through the investigation, it was determined that the threats were a hoax, intended solely for the purpose of canceling school.

Two Hopkins County Juveniles have been taken in to custody in relation to that incident according to a press release from Madisonville PD.
