Hopkinsville Pursuit Leads To Wreck, Charges


Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) – On February 19, 2019, at approximately 10:06 PM, Trooper Hunter Carroll, of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, was in the area of 18th Street assisting Hopkinsville Police Officers with a shots fired complaint.

Trooper Carroll observed a black SUV with no headlights or taillights illuminated turn from E 18th Street onto Walnut Street. Trooper Carroll activated his emergency equipment to stop the vehicle. The vehicle accelerated and continued down several streets before going off road near a cemetery off of Moore’s Drive. The SUV slid down an embankment, wrecking into a wood line, where it became disabled. The suspect was then apprehended without incident, however police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit.

Trooper Carroll believed the suspect had given him a false name, but was in possession of multiple identifiers of that individual. Through further investigation, Trooper Carroll was able to determine the suspect had given him false identifying information, and identified him as Creadell Hubbard, 61 years of age.

Hubbard was wearing a ballistic vest, and was in possession of multiple firearms. Hopkinsville Police Department is carrying charges in reference to the weapons, and are still investigating the initial shots fired complaint.

Creadell Hubbard was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center where Trooper Carroll charged him with the following:

  • Failure to Illuminate Head Lamps
  • No Tail Lamps
  • Disregarding Stop Sign
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Wanton Endangerment- 1st Degree- Police Officer
  • Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree
  • Failure of Non-owner to Maintain Req Ins/Sec, 1st Off
  • Theft of Identity of Another W/O Consent

Hubbard was also served two warrants, one of which had been obtained by the U.S. Marshals. Trooper Carroll was assisted in the pursuit by Hopkinsville Police Department and Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
